About Me

Hi there! I'm Helena, a watercolour artist living in Sechelt, B.C., on Canada's west coast.

My professional background is in visual communication. I studied graphic design, illustration and fine arts at several universities across Canada, and earned a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication from the Alberta University of the Arts.

In 2014, after 20+ years at design agencies and freelancing, I felt the need for a significant shift in my life, which inspired a move to China, then to Vietnam, teaching English to children along the way. I returned to Canada and the Sunshine Coast in November 2018. Upon my return, I began work as a home support worker, and eventually returned to my art with watercolour painting.

My Inspiration

Inspired by the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast, I paint watercolour landscapes of calm, coastal scenes. My work portrays the incredible skies and seas, sunrises and sunsets, of my surroundings. Through my art, I hope to bring peace, solace, and joy to myself and others.
